The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is already an uncompromising driver's car as standard equipment – it becomes a precision instrument with the Manthey Kit. Its potential: 7:03.121 minutes for a lap on the 12 miles (20.8-kilometer) Nürburgring-Nordschleife. In addition to the pure performance, which can be read from the lap time, the focus, as with all kits, is on driving ability. Predictable reactions and clear feedback from the vehicle are the factors that make the package attractive.

Decades of experience in GT sports, complex aerodynamic simulations and countless test kilometers were combined in order to optimize the already excellent systems of the mid-engine sports car specifically for use on race circuits and track days. The focus of the development was the use of new aerodynamic and chassis components as well as an optimization of the brake system for track day use.

Aerodynamics package

With a slightly sharpened design, the aerodynamics package unleashes its full potential, particularly in the bends. The aerodynamics were extensively modified to increase the contact force of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS for race track use. At a speed of 124 mph (200 km/h), the aerodynamics package increases the overall effect by 176 lbs (80 kg) on the non-road-approved performance package, i.e., an increase in downforce from 196 lbs to 372 lbs (89 kg to 169 kg).

On the front of the vehicle, Flaps and new Aircurtains with Radhaus-Gurney significantly improve the ventilation of the wheel housings. The resulting higher downforce on the front axle is consequently improved by the completely new carbon front diffusor. It ensures an ideal flow under the vehicle, which noticeably improves grip, steering behavior and vehicle control.

Particularly eye-catching is the newly developed fixed rear wing made of carbon with an integrated Gurney flap. In order to achieve the most uniform distribution of the aerodynamic load, the rear wing adjustable in four stages was widened by 85 mm and geometrically adapted to the roof contour. This results in optimal downforce, along with a pronounced bending of the vane that harmonizes the air flow over the entire width and the newly designed vane end plates with the Manthey logo. In order to withstand these enormous forces, the body structure has been reinforced on the inside of the tailgate on both sides in visible carbon.

The Aerodiscs on the rear wheels, which can be individualized with an optional decorative lining, form the conclusion of the aerodynamics package integrated optically in the vehicle design. They reduce turbulent air on the rear wheels reduce at the rear of the vehicle and impact positively on the aerodynamic efficiency. The effectiveness of the extensive measures was demonstrated in the wind tunnel of the Porsche Development Center in Weissach.

Air intake grill

For the side air inlets above the side-skirts, specific lattice inserts are included, which make cleaning the ducts much easier because gross dirt, such as tire rubber abrasion, is already stopped at the easily accessible entrance into the purge air duct.

Coilover suspension

The desire for motorsport performance with high everyday fitness: one thing of elaborate tests on the race track and on the driving dynamic test stand. The developed setup is based on a threaded chassis with four-fold damper-adjustable spring struts and adjusted spring rates (+20% on the front axle) in an upside-down design. For the first time, upside-down struts use positive displacement technology, which enables a much more precise and at the same time faster response compared to the usual design with external adjustment valves. To ensure that no valuable time is lost, even when precisely adapting to the respective route conditions, the damping forces are easily accessible and can be adjusted without tools in both the pressure and traction stages at low and high speed. A compatible version is available for both vehicles with and without a front axle lift system.

Brake wire harness with steel sleeve

The brake line set with steel jacket ensures even more direct pedal feedback and a faster response time as a result. These components of the Kit were also tested and further developed by Manthey on the Nordschleife.
The brake system of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS can optionally be equipped with race brake pads. The racing brake pad for the gray cast-iron brake system was developed specifically for race track use and improves fading characteristics as well as responsiveness and control. The brake pad is characterized by constant friction behavior over a wide temperature range and very good wear behavior with low disc attack.

Other items

The 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit with illuminated door entry panels made of a carbon and Manthey logo in Red and White adds special accents. Alternatively, the Manthey logo can be applied to the vehicle doors in White or Black if you wish. Two towing loops are available as an option, especially for race track use. They are available in Red, Black or Yellow and are attached to the front and rear part in the threads provided for this purpose. They must be removed again before driving in traffic on public roads.

The Kit can optionally be extended with a specially designed carbon rear spoiler attachment. The rear spoiler attachment made of visible carbon is fitted to the standard torn-off edge in a form-fitting manner as a supplement to the stationary rear wing. In combination with the high downforce position of the rear wing, the downforce on the rear axle increases by an additional 4%.

The performance is visually underlined by the optional louvers made of visible carbon (wheelhouse vents). The surface is optically adapted to the visible carbon hood from the Weissach package – but also represents an optical highlight in conjunction with the hood painted in the car color.

Note: Approval for road use and warranty remain unchanged. The individual components of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit are precisely tailored to one another.
